  • Huawei MediaPad 7-inch Tablet

     

    Huawei is launching its new MediaPad tablet, which is the first 7-inch Android 3 Honeycomb tablet device. Powered by a dual-core Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor, the MediaPad runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, which is the same as version 3.1 but optimized for 7-inch tablets. It comes with a IPS capacitive touchscreen with 217 pixel per inch.

    The Huawei MediaPad sports a 5 Megapixel camera, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat, and 8GB internal storage. The device supports Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi 802.11b/g/n as well as HSPA+ 14.4Mbps connectivity. It supports Full HD 1080p video playback and offers HDMI output. There are also built-in microphone, USB connector and a microSD/SDHC card slot for expansion.

Powered by by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor with 512MB RAM, the VB730 runs Android 2.2 Froyo OS, instead of tablet-friendly Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The tablet has a 7-inch 800×480 touchscreen with 400:1 contrast and 380cd/m2 brightness, a VGA front camera, integrated microphone and speakers and microSD card slot.

    The Story HD features a 6-inch 768×1024 e-ink display offering 63.8 percent more pixels than other e-readers, a QWERTY keyboard, SD card slot, and USB 2.0 connector. It is powered by a Cortex A8 chipset. The e-reader has a sleek, signature style and a curve with two-tone colors at the front and back for easy grip and slim design.

    Chinese company Haier announced its HaiPad tablet device for the Chinese market. The 7-inch HaiPad runs Android Froyo with a customized UI. It is powered by FreeScale iMX515 A8 800MHz processor and supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and WCDMA 3G connectivity. The HaiPad, like Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, can handle phone calls and text as well.


    Haier is selling the HaiPad for 3299 Chinese Yuan (US $511).
